We are excited to announce that registration for the Justice in Funding Mission Pre-Conference is now open. A one-day gathering in Memphis before the CCDA National Conference, the Justice in Funding Mission Pre-Conference is a time to come together and seek solutions to inequity in our support raising systems.

Justice In Funding Mission Pre-Conference

Register for the Justice in Funding Mission Pre-Conference

Join fellow practitioners for a Justice in Funding Mission gathering to discuss solutions to the problem of “how mission funding and support raising keeps parachurch ministries White.” In today’s increasingly multicultural society, mission agencies and parachurch ministries struggle to have their staff ranks represent the diversity they see in the world around them. One major contributing factor is the support raising model we use to fund ministry.

We’ll spend the day lamenting the consequences of the current system, thinking theologically about mission and funding, learning from people pioneering solutions, and networking to hear what others around us are trying. We hope this gathering will catalyze a community of ministers from all ethnic and racial backgrounds who are passionate to see the Church live out mission funding in a just and equitable way. We believe this could be the next step in the future of support raising, a future where everyone, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or social connection can fully participate in God’s global mission.

Who Should Attend?

The Justice in Funding Mission Pre-Conference is a one-day event for anyone hoping to find solutions to how support raising keeps parachurch ministries white. Our audience includes: ministry executives, staff members, pastors, team leaders, members of both ethnic minority and majority culture communities, and donors passionate about seeing support raising work for ministers of all ethnicities. The pre-conference will be a perfect fit for both those new to the issues and those who have long sought solutions. We don’t have all the answers, but hope the Pre-Conference will catalyze a movement to discover solutions together.

Scholarships

Believers passionate about justice and equity in funding mission have reached out to us and offered to supply scholarships to attendees who feel that the $59 registration fee is something they cannot afford. If this is you, please contact us and let us know and we would be more than happy to provide a scholarship for you to attend. If God is leading you to come, we don’t want finances to be a barrier. We believe you have something to offer all of us, and we don’t want to miss out on that opportunity.

Name Change

You may have noticed that the name of the event has changed since we last posted about it. We received feedback that the name wasn’t entirely clear as to the purpose of the event, so we updated it to Justice in Funding Mission. We hope that as you share with others in your organization that this new name will help them better understand the purpose of the event. If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to contact us.

  1. Is this conference in person only or is there options to attend virtually somehow? Will it be streamed or only offered on site? Thank you!

    1. Sarah,

At this point we haven’t talked about live streaming the conference. I’ll talk about it with our other planners and let you know.
